Help Us Fight Food Insecurity This Holiday Season

The holidays are all about giving, and it’s important not to forget those who need our generosity the most. That’s why Orcé has pledged to donate 20 meals to Feeding America for every order made from now until the end of the year. 

Feeding America is working towards an America where no one is hungry. They strive to advance change by partnering with food banks, policymakers, supporters, and local communities to ensure equitable access to nutritious food. 

Their mission has never been more important, because food insecurity has sharply increased since the pandemic hit in 2019. Just that year, the national rate of food insecurity was the lowest it had been since it was first measured in the 1990s. But as COVID19 spread over the last two years, unemployment skyrocketed–and so did food insecurity. To compare, 2019 saw an estimated 35 million Americans facing food insecurity in 2019. In 2020, over 60 million people turned to food banks and community programs to help put food on the table. A disproportionate number of those people were families with children and communities of color, who had both faced a higher rate of food insecurity even prior to the pandemic.

In 2021, an estimated 42 million people are still faced with food insecurity–that’s 1 in 9 people. Feeding America is able to reach every 1 in every 7 of them. This incredible organization puts 98% of donations directly into the programs serving people in need, and consistently receives high ratings from the Better Business Bureau and Charity Navigator, so you can rest assured knowing our donations (and yours, should you choose to give on your own) are going directly to this tremendously important cause.
